be able to

I would like to... suggest an idea
be able to consolidate every image file I have into one location. Maintain modified size files. Have ONE location for backing up and removing duplicates. This magical option would include a window for comparison files which have the same name. If I had files with same name, size, etc., a window would display the files and I could go through and simply select with radio button which files to merge into one file and which are indeed duplicates. Sorted by 'date taken' and ability to rename with '1, 2, or 1a, 2a' etc. to maintain the integrity of files. In essence if an image file had a modification as simple as red-eye adjustment, that file would automatically become 1a. Resize? would become 1b (or something similar) but remain attached to the original file wherein renaming a photo would not send it to where ever [lost socks] go. By virtue of original, the integrity of a photo would remain. The option to put it somewhere is fine but the photo/file would remain intact in one place. Simplification without tedious selection. I am not happy with the social photo uploads or permissions. I would enjoy remaining private instead of a sync which puts my privacy open to public UNLESS I select 'PRIVATE'. I had to allow (G...e) permission to have access to my picture files in order to post an atavar. If I created an avatar, it would be named by date then edited? I.E.: 04012013/00001/a = (avatar), or = 000001/b = batch, or 00001/c = cut/trimmed, I hope you can get the gist (had a stroke 2008) and have thousands of files many of which are irreplaceable but they are all over the place. Having a duplicate filter is great so perhaps the ability to identify, merge and maintain the same photo (sort of like OCR), and in it's own file. I may attempt to implement something myself but even though "Old is Gold" I remain challenged so appeal to you developers for something simplified. Smiles 4 Miles, vivi
